The chairman of the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) Edward Siwela, board members, management and staff of the SRC would like to heartily congratulate the cricket national team, the Chevrons, for reaching the Super Six of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Qualifiers which is currently being hosted in Harare, Bulawayo and Kwekwe.
Siwela said this is a step in the right direction given that Zimbabwe needs to qualify for the World Cup which is scheduled to take place next year in England.
“Now that you have reached the Super Six stage, our message to you is that, keep the eyes on the ball and it’s not yet time to take the foot off the accelerator pedal for the journey is still on. The nation is now awaiting anxiously with hope that you will sail through this stage and be one of the two teams which will proceed to the World Cup,” he said.
Siwela added this calls for determination, dedication, right framework of mind, concentration and playing purposefully.
“As the SRC, we are confident that you will make us proud by qualifying for the world which is pinnacle of cricket and this will take your cricketing career to another level,” Siwela said.
Once again, the SRC congratulates and expresses its gratitude to the Chevrons for making the country proud by qualifying for the Super Six.
