A local paint and plastics manufacturing company has injected $3,5 million in retooling its factory and make it vibrant and competitive.

According to the manufacturing industry report released by the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI), the country loses in excess of US$2 billion annually through the use of outdated machinery.

Splash Paints and Plastics Managing Director, Mr Anis Patel told the company’s suppliers and customers who attended the commissioning of new equipment at the company’s headquarters in Harare today that they injected $3,5 million in procuring new equipment and they are now working towards attaining an ISO certification.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Cde Sithembiso Nyoni said the commissioning of the new machinery is a demonstration of the manufacturing sector’s resilience. 

The company was established as a family business called Bhola paints in 1997 and is also into corporate social responsibility initiatives that include painting of schools and health facilities.
