Special Olympics Zimbabwe president, Viola Musariri says it is critical to ensure the needs of people living with intellectual disability are identified so as to give the athletes equal opportunities of competing.

Often shut out due to various reasons on the sporting sphere, Musariri said the needs of athletes with intellectual disabilities need to be identified so as to assist them reach their potential.

She made the remarks on the sidelines of a forum meant to provide information about the role of the Special Olympics in making known various conditions affecting people with intellectual disability.
