Action in the Southern Region Division One League is heating up with the top seven teams separated by only 4 points after nine rounds of action played.

Hwange, Mosi Rovers, Tsholotsho, Indlovu Iyanyathela, Ciwu, Zpc Hwange and Makomo are proving the early pack tussling for the sole promotion ticket to the top flight league.

128 goals have been scored so far in the season from a total of 144 matches.

ZIFA Southern Region administrator, Augustine Ndlovu, spoke glowingly of the quality that has been exhibited by the league that has produced some players that have gone on to shine at the national stage.

Week 10 of action will see log leaders and former premiership side Hwange who are coached by Nation Dube hosting Ciwu while Makomo travel to Casmyn in Turk Mine without their gaffer Rahman Gumbo who is on national duty with the Warriors at the COSAFA Cup in Polokwane South Africa.

In other matches, Toronto hosts Indlovu Iyanyathela at Crescent grounds, Mkhuphali Masuku’s Talent Vision squares off with Motomoto at Gifford High School, Zim Leopards and Main Line have a date at Luveve Stadium while the last Saturday (tomorrow) match will feature ZPC Hwange and ZRP Bulawayo in Hwange.

On Sunday, former premiership side Tsholotsho hosts NRZ Leopards at Luveve Stadium while second placed Mosi Rovers take on Bosso 90 in Victoria Falls.
