The Zimbabwe National Chamber of SMEs has paid tribute to President Robert Mugabe for promulgating policies and programmes that support the growth and thriving of SMEs.

Small to medium enterprises have presented belated gifts to President Robert Mugabe on the occasion his 93rd birthday.

President Mugabe turned 93 on the 21st of February.

The SMEs gesture is in the spirit of thanking the President for his good policies that have empowered the sector.

Zimbabwe National Chamber of SMEs president Mr Daniel Chinyemba said the organisation has created more than 2 million jobs through creation of new enterprises and work opportunities.

He said SMEs have responded  to governments ZIM ASSET by being innovative and even employing university graduates.

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) says SMEs are now contributing 70 percent of collections by the revenue collector.
