Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are embracing clean up campaigns in line with the government’s policy to attract local and external investments.
Speaking to the ZBC News after members of the SMEs and several emerging business units took part in the clean up campaigns of Harare Central Business District (CBD) today, SMEs International Expo Managing Director Mrs Blessing Magenga said a clean city is a key element towards ensuring business or enterprises operate in a stable and viable environment.
“We are taking this initiative to ensure all is being done for the benefit of the public, we shall do our best,” she said.
Zimbabwe Union of Drivers and Conductors president Mr Fradreck Maguramhinga said stakeholders should focus on modalities or policies that facilitate clean cities and towns.
“It is also our duty to maintain clean environments that can suitably benefit the entire key sectors of the economy,” said Mr Maguramhinga.
The cleanup campaign is also anticipated to set the tone towards ensuring business organisations take a leading role in terms of ensuring healthy and clean facilities in areas they operate in.
