Chitungwiza-based Splaywright and singer, Noel Tsungai Marerwa, who rose to prominence with his 1997 hit, Seke Mutema off the album Another Mile to Go, is now into gospel music.

Those from yester-year will remember the hit track Seke Mutema from an artist also known for writing and directing the theatrical play, Ganyau Express.

After years out of the studios, Marerwa is back with yet another scotcher, an 8-track album titled: Dombo Rekare.

“I have always liked gospel music but there were many challenges that prevented me from worshipping God through music,” Marerwa said.

Some of the tracks on his debut album include Chikomo Chine Nhaka, Guchu Ramavhesi, Vadare, Yawe and Sorojena, among others

Apart from music, Marerwa wrote and directed Hot Water Bottle with Tinopona Katsande, and took part in the theatrical play, Ganyau Express which he also wrote.

Other plays include Another Mile to Go and Maingeni.

Marerwa also wrote a film that was shown on DSTV Africa Magic channel titled The Postman, which was acted by renowned film makers; David Mungoshi and Rudo Chigogo.

Marerwa is also credited for writing a number of feature stories which were published in magazines such as Moto, Horizon, Outpost and the then Sunday Mail magazine.
