The First lady, Amai Grace Mugabe, has toured Dora Clinic in Mutare North constituency, which was renovated by Zanu PF in the run-up to the recently held 11th Annual Peopleâ€™s Conference.
Addressing more that 200 people who gathered at the clinic yesterday, Amai Mugabe said the President and Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde Robert Mugabe, has a long term vision of championing black empowerment for the benefit of local people.Â
She said there is need for Zimbabweans to guard jealously the gains of the liberation struggle by correcting mistakes they made in the 2008 harmonised elections through voting for Zanu PF in next yearâ€™s elections.
Amai Mugabe said women, who constitute a quarter of the population, are the backbone of the country hence they should be productive and self-reliant.
She called on Zimbabweans to shun all forms of violence and emphasized that they should continue to maintain peace and stability.
The First Lady bemoaned the continued influx of foreigners and called on the government to put stringent measures that will protect Zimbabwean citizens from all forms of abuse, chief among them marriages of convenience.
