With most of her fans assuming she has taken a sabbatical, Canadian based Zimbabwean gospel musician, Shingisayi Suluma says she is still in the game and has instead adopted the American music style of releasing singles instead of albums.

With a career spanning over two decades, Amai Suluma as she is affectionately known in the music circles recorded her first album Zvanaka in 1995.

The gospel songstress last produced an album in 2009 titled Ndewangu before moving to the USA the same year and later settling in Canada last month.

A recent collaboration with Janet Manyowa on the song ‘Muchengeti’ was reproduced live during Manyowa’s album launch over the weekend and it proved Amai Suluma still has what it takes.

Some of Amai Suluma’s popular tracks include Mirira Mangwanani, Tatenda Taona, Maitiro Enyu, Nanhasi, Mumaoko Amwari and Fara Zvakadaro.

She has won several national awards and is arguably one of the most accomplished Zimbabwean female artistes.
