The newly appointed Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province, Cde Webster Shamu has held an interactive meeting with chiefs from the province.

The meeting was part of the newly appointed minister’s first steps in interfacing with key leadership in the province.

The platform presented the traditional leaders with an opportunity to spell out to government some of the challenges  they are facing as well as to express their gratitude to government for providing relief food to families affected by drought induced hunger in the 2015 /2016 season.

Through their provincial council leader Chief Dandawa, the traditional leaders also gave a thumps up sign to the command agriculture and the Presidential Inputs Support Scheme for enhancing food security.

Cde Shamu undertook to conduct regular meetings with the chiefs in order to have a better appreciation of their challenges.

He however warned the chiefs against settling people in grazing areas.

Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman, Cde Ephraim Chengeta also attended the meeting.
