horse-racingg.jpgA seven race programme is on the cards at Borrowdale Race Course this Sunday, where the main race of the day will be the TBA Silver Slipper to be contested over 1 800 metres.

A small field of seven runners will take to the course in the feature race which will see Lisa Harris, Gorkan Terzi and Kirk Swanson battling for honours on the trainers’ front.

Distinguished trainer Lisa Harris’ hopes of winning the race will hinge on four runners, namely: Janey, Guest Night, Atlantic Star and Kiabella.

Of the four stable companions Janey appears the best bet for a win and should be the one they all have to beat.

With Derreck David onboard, Kiabella could be the one to give the favourite a strong challenge, while Guest Night and Atlantic Star have minimal chances of crossing the finishing post first.

Kirk Swanson will pin his hopes on satisfaction.

The filly, which will be ridden by Quinton Riddle however has a big mountain to climb in a bid to outshine six other contestants.

Siavonga and Solar Impulse from Gorkan Terzi’s stable complete the line up of seven runners to contest the feature race.

Although Siavonga secured an easy victory in its last race on the 12th of last month, it has more work to do this time around.

Solar Impulse on the other hand won on debut some one and a half months ago and is expected to have a strong say in the outcome of the race.

Its ability to compete around the bend will however come under scrutiny having won its debut race up the straight.

The TBA Silver Slipper, which is part of a 7-race programme, will see the seven runners competing over 1 800 metres. The race is reserved for fillies only and has a stake of $6 800.
