Senegal raised the African flag high after beating Poland 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup opening Group H match in Russia.

Four other African representatives faltered and Senegal collected their first set of points in today’s match and raised the continent’s hopes of having a team in the knock-out stage of the football extravaganza.
