Education institutions have been implored to recognize the value of arts by providing programmes that seek to inspire children to learn art in school.

Art presents a forum for safe expression, communication imagination as well as cultural and historic understanding.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Heritage School combined annual art exhibition that was recently held at the institution, senior art teacher Mr Aaron Nyandoro highlighted the importance of art in education as it provides students a chance to develop cognitive and creative skills.

Some of the students who spoke to ZBC News said they were inspired by the need to explore beyond limits.

The students who showcased their talent were drawn from the infant, junior and senior departments.

This year’s event was held under the theme ‘Integrating Images’.
