athlets.jpgThe annual National Association of Primary School Heads (NAPH) track and field athletics competition got underway at the National Sports Stadium this Wednesday morning with athletes drawn from all the country’s provinces vying for honours.


Several athletes drawn from all corners of the country represented their provinces in an exciting day of athletics.


National Association of Primary School Heads president, Phillip Rudanda was elated by the level of competition exhibited on the opening day of the two-day competition which officially ends on Thursday.


The NAPH athletics competition sponsored by Nestle is an annual event which sees athletes that excelled from various provinces taking part in different categories such as 100 metres, 400 meters, 800 metres, hurdles, long jump and high jump.


Masvingo are the defending champions of the NAPH tournament which is the biggest competition on the primary schools sports calendar.
