Livestock farmers have come out in full force with new breeds of cattle at this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) which is underway in Bulawayo.

Most of these breeds have been scarce at the exhibition in past years.

Azondo Beefmasters farm manager, Mr Hutson Mavuru said the livestock exhibited at this year`s trade fair are of good quality compared to those of previous years.

“The fat stock and pedigrees animals are available this year and some will be auctioned on Thursday to the highest bidders,” said Mavuru.

Bulawayo Agricultural Society administrative officer, Mrs Natalie Adlam said this year scarce breeds such as Nkone, Tuli and Afrikaaner have made a surprising come back after three years of being out of sight.

The 2017 edition of the ZITF is very promising to local farmers who aim at developing local breeds and improving the country`s economy.
