South Africa’s most successful rugby coach, Peter de Villiers is working with Zimbabwe’s Young Sables as the country’s aspirations to book a berth at the 2019 World Cup heighten.

2009 South Africa’ under 20 Rugby World Cup winning coach and the most successful Springboks coach is in the country for a familiarisation tour with the Young Sables.

De Villiers, who is among the four shortlisted rugby coaches and favourite to land the Young Sables job, said he took it upon himself to avail himself to assist the team with rugby drills in view of the vast rugby talent found in the country.

Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) CEO, Sifiso Made evaded responding to sentiments that the invitation of De Villiers was an indication the union had settled for the South African coach.

Made also announced that former Sables coach, Colin Osborne will arrive in Zimbabwe this week to conduct open rugby coaching sessions in Harare and Bulawayo.
