The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Expo celebrates its 10th anniversary this year since its rebranding with the preparations by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) already in progress to ensure that the tourism showcase is a resounding success.
The preparations for the tourism showcase began following the release of funds by treasury last month.
The fair has been moved from June and will now take place from the 27th of September, a day also set aside for the commemorations of the World Tourism Day, to the 1st of October to allow for adequate preparations.
According to ZTA Chief Operating Officer, Mr Givemore Chidzidzi, preparations are progressing smoothly and all companies which have exhibited at any of the Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism expo editions will be invited to attend this year’s event.
“In terms of our set up, we have got markets that we are targeting; the African market, the Middle East, China and Europe and the Americas, so we have set some targets that we will be announcing in due course. In terms of exhibitors, obviously as a 10th edition, it is our intention to have as many of the exhibitors who have exhibited with us before,” said Mr Chidzidzi.
The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Expo is the biggest tourism showcase in the country which seeks to promote travel to the country through perception management, visits to local tourist attractions and networking with local, regional and international buyers.
This year’s showcase will be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) grounds in Bulawayo.
