Over 100 tourism buyers and journalists have so far visited the country’s premier tourist destination, Victoria Falls ahead of the 2018 Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism expo with most of them expressing optimism about the growth prospects of the local travel and tourism industry.
Zimbabwe’s economic reforms, re-engagement drive and current efforts in boosting inbound tourist arrivals have received a thumbs up from the tourism buyers who are in the country for the 11the edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Expo set for the 5th to the 8th of September in Bulawayo.
A total of six groups from different source markets which include Spain, the UK, Germany, Mauritius, South Africa and the USA have so far visited the legendary Victoria Falls as part of the pre-Sanganai tours.
The tourism buyers said they confident of Zimbabwe’s ability to emerge as the most attractive and preferred tourism destination on the continent.
More tourism buyers are expected to visit Victoria Falls and other popular destinations across the country after the Sanganai/Hlnaganani World Travel and Tourism Expo.
The premier tourism expo comes at a time the local tourism industry continues to enjoy record numbers as evidenced by surge in both room occupancy levels and tourist arrivals.
