The 2011 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair has ended in the capital with stakeholders commending the level of participation between local and foreign exhibitors.
The three-day Sanganai/Hlanganani expo has come to an end with players in the tourism sector saying the expo opened an interactive platform whose benefits are set to be witnessed over the next few months.
China Day was the centre of attraction this Wednesday, with local students taking the chance to show their knowledge of the Chinese language. This has been commended by the Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr. Xin Shunkung.
Exhibitors said enquiries have been made which locals should turn into bankable business ventures for the growth of the tourism industry.
The tourism awards saw 12 firms scooping various prizes cementing their position in the sector.
National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe scooped the best public institution stand while Khanondo Safaris were voted the best safari stand which drew the attention of various stakeholders confirming the companyâ€™s role towards economic growth.
Meikles Hotel scooped the hotel stand prize while Glory Car Hire won the best car hire among others.
