no to sanctions campaign.jpgThe Ministry of Media,  Information and Publicity stand at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, ZITF,  which is exhibiting under the theme “defeating sanctions for total empowerment”,  is amongst the popular stands at this years exhibitions.

When ZBC News visited the stand , a lot of people were streaming in to view the various statements on sanctions that are on display.

The  Director of Urban Communications in the Ministry , Retired Major Anyway Mutambudzi said they adopted the anti-sanctions theme for ZITF 2011 as the sanctions are hindering the nation from moving forward.

 He said the sanctions which were imposed on the country by Britain and her allies are one of the two being used by western powers to effect unconstitutional regime change in Zimbabwe.

Mr Mutambudzi said the bulk of the people who have visited the stand so far indicated that there is need to do more campaign to educate the people on the information pertaining to the sanctions.

The Anti-sanctions Petition was launched in Harare at the beginning of March by the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defense Forces, President Robert Mugabe.

Major Mutambudzi added that two million people are expected to sign the anti-sanctions petition which will be sent to western countries.
