Government is struggling to finish construction projects in the country owing to challenges mostly caused by the effects of illegal economic sanctions imposed on the nation by the West.
The Ministry of Public Works embarked on face-lifting projects, which have seen several buildings going under renovations, although financial constraints have scuttled the projects. Hopes are high that with the improvement in cash inflows the projects will be completed early next year.
However, financial constraints have hampered progress at various sites.
Deputy Minister of Public Works, Senator Guy Georgias said economic sanctions imposed on the country by Western nations have impacted negatively on the completion of various construction projects that the government embarked a few years ago.
Government construction projects have been put on hold as fiscal authorities are collecting US$140 million monthly instead of the envisaged US$400 million which is required for proper planning.
