The sentiments were shared during the official crowning ceremony of Mutare City Rovers as ZIFA Division 2 Eastern Province winners.

The promotion of the Buffaloes into the country’s topflight premiership has ejected Mutare City Council from their comfort zone.

With Sakubva Stadium which is set to be Buffaloes’ home ground not up to the required standards, the city’s Town Clerk, Obert Muzavazi pledged to engage all stakeholders so that it can host big matches.

Meanwhile, the promotion of Mutare City Rovers to the ZIFA Eastern Region First Division League was welcomed by many who felt it is a grand opportunity that will open windows of prospects for the province.

The crowning of Mutare City Rovers marked the last of a series of crowning events which were sponsored by ZIFA President, Cuthbert Dube.

Association Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Mashingaidze described these ceremonies as a token that will inspire success within the regions.

All the Division Two winning teams and their runners-up from the 10 provinces have so far received trophies and medals.
