Nyabira Primary and Secondary Schools and the surrounding community will now have access to safe drinking water and gardening following the commissioning of borehole in the area.
Prayers by the Nyabira schools and the surroundings community for safe drinking water have finally been answered, thanks to partnership between upper Manyame sub-catchment council and Korea Food for the Hungry International who drilled a borehole which has the capacity to supply water for drinking and gardening to the area.
Officially commissioning the borehole at Nyabira Primary School, the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province, Cde Faber Chidarikire applauded the donation saying such public private partnership will breathe life into vulnerable communities.
Nyabira Primary Headmistress, Mrs Esnath Gondwe welcomed the gesture saying the borehole will afford the pupils access to clean water, gardening and also benefit the surrounding communities which were for long time exposed to unhygienic conditions due to water scarcity.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by officials from the Ministry of Education, political leadership and parents from Nyabira.
