The Southern Africa Association of Accountants (SAAA) is adopting measures to guard against the risks associated with cyber crime.
SAAA held its annual conference in Kariba with the association executive rallying its membership to be wary of technology-linked crime especially financial fraud.
President of the association, Mr Artwell Katsande told delegates attending the conference in Kariba that the body has had to introduce forensic accounting and fraud examinations as part of the trade competence test, among members.
SAAA council member, Mr Takeson Chikwetu said a raft of measures will be taken to rebrand the professional body and ensure its members remain competitive and relevant to the new order of doing things in the digital era.
The association’s annual conference was aimed at interrogating how best it can attain high quality accounting standards and compared notes on recent international accounting systems.
