South African bred horse, Coachelo ridden by jockey, Fannie Chambers won the Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe horse race at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare yesterday. 

The over 1000 metres race had six horses; Sheik’s Brashee, Road to Dubai, Coachela, El Gallo, Newtown Power and Cabinda.

After the race, four prizes were given with winning jockey, Chambers walking away $4500 richer.

The jockey of the second placed Cabinda, Calvin Habib pocketed $1600, while third placed El Gallo’s jockey, Brendon McNaughton got $1000.

Fourth placed Newtown Power’s rider, Morgan Nyamagwete got a $600 consolation prize.

Bridget Stidolph, owner of the winning horse, was rewarded with a trophy while Isiah Tombo got a hamper for being the best horse trainer.
