Evans Rusike says he is hoping to transfer club form to the national team as the Warriors continue to prepare for a crunch away encounter against Congo Brazzaville set for this Sunday.
Rusike has been in rich form for his club Supersport United but the soft spoken forward is hoping to translate club form to the national team.
“I am paid to score goals and as such I will be looking to score goals and do well for my country. I know I have been doing well for my club and it would please me to be in top form for the Warriors as well,” he said.
Rusike will be among Zimbabwe’s main attacking options given Nyasha Mushekwi has been ruled out for Sunday’s encounter.
Mushekwi flew into the country late on Tuesday (yesterday) and presented a medical report which effectively revealed an injury to his pelvis.
Khama Billiat is still in with a chance despite fears a hamstring may keep him out of action.
The diminutive forward is being monitored by the Warriors medical team as Zimbabwe gears up for the encounter against Congo Brazzaville.
The Zimbabwe national side is expected to leave for the crucial AFCON encounter on Friday with fans hoping for the Warriors to maintain the positive momentum after opening their campaign with a 3-0 win over Liberia.
