Four rural schools in Mt Darwin have received computers from a non-governmental organisation, a move set to make it easier for them to implement the new curriculum.
Mt Darwin High School, Mutondwe Secondary, Nyajenje and Mutondwe Primary Schools have received computers from Computer Education For All Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in Harare.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their happiness saying they will now be able to use the gadgets as required by the new curriculum.
Speaking during the handover of computers at Mutondwe Secondary School, Zanu PF Mashonaland Central provincial chairperson Cde Dick Mafios said the NGO has set a good example which should be admired and imitated by others.
The computer donation will go a long way in complementing government efforts of ensuring that every school pupil is exposed to ICTs at an early age.
Most schools countrywide have benefitted from the national e-learning programme which is an initiative of President Robert Mugabe.
