A grouping of Zimbabwean women in Pennsylvania United States of America have donated US$1 200 after being touched by the plight of Ropafadzo Mahichani, a 20 year old young woman afflicted by a rare medical condition which has left local doctors puzzled.
Mrs Sheila Ganyo one of the Zimbabwean women based in USA said social media videos of the story aired on ZBC News made them aware of Ropa’s condition and motivated them to start a campaign for their group members to chip in in every little way possible.
“We were affected by the child’s condition and we made a campaign to donate and managed to get US$1 200,” she said.
The family thanked Zimbabweans for coming to their aid and pleaded with them to continue assisting as efforts are underway to ensure Ropafadzo gets help from experts in India.
“We are grateful for the love and contributions, may the people also assist others in need of help and be abundantly increased,” said the Ropafadzo’s parents.
Ropa who lost her left leg through amputation is in need of daily medical dressing and is currently going through physiotherapy needs. She also needs financial assistance for extensive tests seeking to establish her condition.
Those willing to assist can contact her parents on 0777985447 or deposit funds in her mother Mrs Tendai Kadyamarungu’s Standard Chartered Bank account number 8700219562400.
