The Registrar Generalâ€™s office has embarked on a votersâ€™ roll cleaning exercise that will see the removal of deceased persons ahead of general elections expected next year.
As the nation gears up for elections next year, the RGâ€™s office is currently in a process to update the votersâ€™ roll.
In an interview with ZBC News, Registrar General, Mr.Tobaiwa Mudede said his office is embarking on a votersâ€™ roll cleaning exercise that will see traditional leaders in the rural areas playing a pivotal role.
At the recently held Zanu PF 12th Annual National Peopleâ€™s Conference, one of the resolution that was passed is for elections to be held next year.
There have been concerns over the years about the countryâ€™s votersâ€™ roll, with the private media and the MDC-T accusing the Registrar Generalâ€™s office of not updating the list.
The process will mark the first step towards elections.
