Zimbabwean gospel artist, Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro launched his 13th album in Harare titled: Maranatha, which features more than 10 local renowned gospel artists.

The new album titled: Maranatha, features an array of renowned local artists among them Mechanic Manyeruke, Leornard Zhakata, Munyaradzi Munodawafa, Mathias Mhere and Olinda Marowa.

Reverent Chivaviro said he hopes the offering will strengthen his musical career following the release of his hit song, Ebenezer.

Guest of Honour at the launch, the Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Dr Christopher Mushohwe congratulated Reverend Chivaviro for the new release, saying it has come at a time when the nation is on a drive to promote local content.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Mike Bimha said the government is working on promoting the development of the arts sector in line with content creation initiatives, with a duty free import regime on music instruments being considered, among other measures to promote local music.

Also in attendance at the launch of the album was popular South African gospel artist, Derrick Ndzimande, government officials and fellow musicians.
