The St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World and Zanu PF supporters joined hands in celebrating the ruling party’s victory in the just-ended 2018 harmonised elections.
During the celebrations, indigenous churches and the general populace were urged to take peace as their curriculum to foster development among communities and to desist from acts of violence.
Addressing congregants and the community, the Secretary General of the St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World, Mr Evans Mariga and the newly elected Zanu PF National Assembly member for Mhondoro Mubaira, Cde Freddy Kapuya said youths should desist from being used by some politicians to perpetrate violence.
“Zimbabweans should to remain calm and peaceful, and continue to pray for our leaders,” said Mr Mariga.
“The leadership of President Mnangagwa is associated with innovative strategies aimed at turning around the fortunes of the people through economic revival programmes. I pledge to fulfill the promises I made during the campaign period,” Cde Kapuya said.
The event was also attended by business people, traditional leaders and famers from the area.
