chris mushohwe.jpgReligious organisations have been implored to forge sound partnership with government in denouncing social, economic and political ills such as homosexuality, illegal sanctions and politically motivated violence in order for the nation to live in peace.

Manicaland Governor and Resident Minister, Cde Chris Mushowe said this during a consultative meeting with various religious denominations in Mutare.

Cde Mushowe said religious organisations were very instrumental in the struggle for Independence in Zimbabwe but the trend has now shifted as various denominations have adopted a soft approach in denouncing various ills that are affecting the society and the nation at large.

He reiterated the fact that the government and various religious denominations should collaborate in the promotion of peace and stability as the gospel is an essential tool in supporting national healing and reconciliation initiatives.
