Relief measures for Cyclone Idai victims continue in Chipinge south as stranded villagers received food aid from the Chipinge Civil Protection Committee today.

The weather in Chipinge has calmed and the sun is shining for the first time since Thursday last week.

However, ward 6 Chipangai villagers in Chipinge south who are currently camped at Chipangai High School are still yet to come to terms with what they encountered when Cyclone Idai hit them as they received provisional food aid from the Chipinge Civil Protection Committee

Councilor for the area Phibeon Machuwaire expressed gratitude to government for reaching out to the stranded souls.

It was also noted that some of the damages in Chipinge were not as severe as those in Chimanimani.

Food provisions are continuing throughout the province with the military forces leading food distributions in most affected areas.
