Vice President Retired General Constantino Chiwenga says the people of Harare have a chance on 30 July to redeem themselves by electing progressive leaders who will develop their areas.

Addressing a campaign rally in Budiriro, Harare today, Cde Chiwenga spoke of the need for residents to vote for Zanu PF candidates, saying the party has people’s welfare at heart.

He lamented pot holes in the capital city’s roads, un-collected garbage and improper housing structures which are currently prevailing in Harare, saying the new dispensation will have a comprehensive plan for infrastructure development and proper settlements.

Vice President Chiwenga also said no houses will be demolished, adding that new houses will be built for people who were settled improperly.

He said the current crop of urban councillors is corrupt as they are looking for quick money, a culture frowned upon by the new dispensation.
