The Meteorological Services Department (MET) says the rainy spell is slowly coming to an end and the country will start experiencing cold and drizzle weather conditions.

This follows a heavy downpour the country received over the past two days with Mashonaland Provinces and Manicaland receiving high amounts of rainfall ranging between 35mm and 87mm.

Senior meteorologist Mr Tich Zinyemba said the season is gradually moving towards winter and people should start experiencing cold weather patterns accompanied by some light showers beginning this Sunday.

MET said they continue to urge people to take reasonable precautions to protect themselves from these adverse weather conditions.

In 2016 the Southern Africa Regional Outlook Forum predicted the region will receive normal to above normal rains and from the rains received, the predictions have proved accurate.
