The country’s biggest and most popular radio station, Radio Zimbabwe in partnership with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) held a massive road show in Southlea Park, Harare today.
The road show was aimed at raising awareness on consumer’s telecommunications rights.
Having conquered the countryside in a whirl wind year that has taken Radio Zimbabwe to all corners of Zimbabwe, Huruyadzo as the station is affectionately known finally descended on Southlea Park.
For the thousands who turned up to meet their celebrities, it was worth the wait as the station did not disappoint.
Among the crowd pullers was Season Ndundu, affectionately known as DJ President who charmed audiences as well as Thabani Gambiza popularly known as Manjenjenje.
POTRAZ Head Consumer Affairs and Publicity Officer, Mr George Manyaya said edutainment is an important tool in reaching out to the people and drive the message home about abuse on social media.
In the latest ZAMPS results released last week, Radio Zimbabwe is the biggest radio station on the land, commanding a 35 percent market share followed by another ZBC radio station, National FM with 17 percent.
Power FM is fourth at 10 percent.
