Animator and Afro-Pop musician, Brighton Kufa, popularly known as Que Montana, is working on an animation movie that is expected to be premiered by June this year.
Montana, whose artistic prowess is exhibited in his latest 3D animated cartoon series titled: Purazi RaSinyoro, which runs every Tuesday on ZBC TV, said he is taking advantage of opportunities in the animation industry to broaden the scope of his artistry.
Montana also said the positive feedback from the series Purazi RaSinyoro inspired him to start working on the his new animation movie titled: Tawanda, which is expected to meet international standards.
“The local production of animated movies helps to tell Zimbabwean stories vividly especially through the use of local languages,” he said.
For Montana, it is easy to balance his work as a musician and an animator as he makes use of his musical skills to develop sounds for his animation projects.
The highly talented and creative artist said more people should venture into animation to widen the country’s entertainment industry in line with the country’s local content creation drive.
