The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has urged newly promoted officers to aim high as they carry out their policing duties.
This comes after the ZRP promoted 25 officers in Mashonaland Central Province.
Speaking at the 2018 promotion parade for chief inspectors and inspectors, ZRP Officer Commanding Mashonaland Central Province, Senior Assistant Commissioner Rangarirai Mushaurwa said the ever changing policing terrain requires diligent officers able to adapt to the obtaining environmental, political and social trends.
“Your colleagues who were elevated before you set the bar high, hence the challenge is now upon you,” he said.
In terms of the ZRP organisational structure, inspectors are officers in charge of stations and sections while chief central stations or provincial sections.
Inspectors are also authorised to administer oaths in terms of the Commissioners of Oaths Act.
