A UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa in co-operation with Zim-Media this Wednesday unveiled a presentation project under the title: ‘Great Trading Empires of Africa’ in Harare.

The launch of the flagship programme brought together stakeholders in the arts, culture and tourism sectors.

The project is aimed at inspiring youths to work towards achieving the African Union (AU) Agenda 2063, which lays out a vision of the transformation of the continent in the next 50 years.

“The project is meant to educate youths on the history of Africa by reconstructing the continent’s history and promoting its perspective,” Zim-Media’s Simon Bright said.

Spearheaded by Zim-Media and Creative Native in cooperation with the UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa, the project intends to bring to life the knowledge of the lost kingdoms of Africa using the recognition of UNESCO’s world heritage sites.
