Controversial Bulawayo East legislator, Ms Thabitha Khumalo’s call for the legalisation of prostitution has been shot down by women in Christian circles as misguided and against the moral fabric of society.
Following a story published in a local weekly in which the MDC-T Legislator for Bulawayo East (pictured) is lobbying parliament to enact a law which legalises prostitution, women from various Christian denominations say the legislator is attempting to import foreign values which have no place in Zimbabwe.
The women went to an extent of quoting the scriptures which they said are clear when it comes to the issue of immorality.
Ms Khumalo has joined a host of other MDC-T legislators who continue to raise controversial issues in parliament.
Last year, Matobo legislator, Sithembile Mlotshwa called for the use of sexual immobilisers on men to curb the effects of HIV and AIDS.
