zps awards.jpgTwenty five prison officers from 13 countries in the SADC region received certificates in peace keeping training in the capital, becoming the first group to take part in the program that was initiated by the Zimbabwe Prison Services.

Z.P.S Deputy Commissioner, Agrey Machingauta who officiated at the certificate presentation ceremony said the training program is expected to help in setting up uniform standards in SADC correctional services, in line with United Nations set principles.

Prison officers who benefited from the peacekeeping training hailed the initiative saying it will help improve prison services through the sharing of ideas.

The trained officers who took part in the training exercise would be expected to undergo any peace keeping mission on the continent.
