zps zimondi.jpg128 prison officers, among them four senior officers, have been promoted and conferred with ranks at a ceremony held at the Zimbabwe Prison Services Headquarters in Harare.

The 128 prison officers include two who have been promoted to the rank of Senior Assistant Commissioners, Charity Gezi and Clawdon Seullah, while two others Celestina Mufarinya and Elmon Dhliwayo were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioners.

Addressing the officers at the conferment of ranks at the ZPS headquarters in Harare, Commissioner of Prisons, Retired Major General Paradzai Zimondi encouraged them to further their education to enable professionalism within the uniformed forces.

“Promotion is based on hard work but comes with increased responsibility,” he said.

Six superintendents were promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent and nine Chief Prison Officers were promoted to the rank of superintendent.

36 Principal Prison Officers were promoted to the rank of Chief Prison Officers, while 77 Senior Prison Officers were promoted to the rank of Chief Prison Officer.
