Rural district councils (RDCs)  in Masvingo province have been urged to prioritise roads and borehole rehabilitation in their budget allocation.

Speaking after commissioning a 1.1 km road in Mpandawana and a refuse compactor purchased by the Gutu RDC,  the Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs, Cde Ezra Chadzamira where he said it is important for the council to prioritise services for their villagers.

“I urge the local authorities in the province to adhere to the same principles and open up live stakeholders participation,” he added.

Gutu RDC CEO, Mr Alexander Mutembwa said the purchasing of the equipment will ensure efficient service delivery in line with the national outlook of keeping the environment clean.

The Masvingo local leadership also pledged to facilitate rehabilitation of the Gutu – Kurai and Bikita – Buhera roads.
