First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa

The First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa says child headed families and families headed by the elderly must be prioritised in all social welfare programmes.

She made the call in Binga where she visited Sunrise Children’s Home.

Multitudes in Binga thronged the Sunrise Children’s Home to catch a glimpse of the First Lady who has already shown her passion for the upliftment of the disadvantaged.

She was welcomed in Tonga tradition that saw many taking to the dance floor.

The First Lady says she is concerned about the social services which she says is adversely affecting children and the elderly.

It is the First Lady’s wish to see reunion of children in such homes with their families.

Amai Mnangagwa took time to play and feed the children as well as distribute Christmas presents.

With a few days before the Christmas holiday, Santa Claus had indeed knocked on the doors of these vulnerable children.
