Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda and stakeholders in the education sector have hailed the launch of e-learning by President Mugabe saying the programme is a step forward in further improving Zimbabwe’s education system.
Dr Sibanda said under the programme, this year alone some e-learning laboratories will be rolled out in both rural and urban schools countrywide.
He also outlined some of the programmes lined up to ensure that Zimbabwe moves in step with other nations.
Mashonaland East Governor and Resident Minister, Cde Aeneas Chigwedere implored school authorities who would have benefitted from the e-learning programme to be self-reliant in the maintenance of and safekeeping of the ICT equipment given to them.
House of Assembly Member for the area, Mrs Beatrice Nyamupinga was full of praise for the programme.
Cde Mugabe told the thousands who converged at Chogugudza Primary School for the e-learning launch that the initiative is an improvement on his schools computerisation programme launched years ago.
The e-learning programme will be spread to different parts of the country to ensure that Zimbabweans get quality education.
