President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s aunt, Gogo Deliwe Mpofu – nee – Mnangagwa, who died on Friday, has been buried today at her homestead in Mapanzure Village.

Gogo Mpofu died after a short illness at the age of 86.

Relatives described the late Gogo Mpofu as a unifier, a fountain of wisdom whom they all rely on for advice.

They also described her as a ‘father’ figure in the Mnangagwa family.

President Mnangagwa attended the funeral with cabinet minister Cde July Moyo, Gokwe Kana legislator Cde Owen Ncube, Zanu PF leadership and other government officials.

Gogo Mpofu was born in 1932 and is survived by two children and several great grand children.
