The government has launched the Presidential Input Scheme in Mashonaland East Province ward 18 Goromonzi South constituency where 3 280 families are set to benefit.
Rusike Primary School in Goromonzi was the venue for the scheme launch, with the Minister of State for Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs, David Musabayana saying it is important that farmers plan early for the forthcoming season.
“President Mnangagwa knows that there are people out there who need assistance and that is the reason why we are giving seed and fertilisers,” he said.
National Assembly candidate for Goromonzi South, Petronela Kagonye said more than 3280 families are set to benefit and encouraged the people to put the inputs to good use.
Beneficiaries could not hide their joy at having accessed the inputs early and promised to deliver yet another bumper harvest.
