president.pngThe Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe, has arrived in Bulawayo for the annual National Chiefs Conference taking place at the Large City Hall.

The President will officially open the Chiefs’ Council which runs under the theme: ‘Traditional Leaders Realigning Culture and Tradition Towards Dynamic Community Development and Empowerment.’

President Mugabe was met by senior government and Zanu-PF officials who included Vice President John Landa Nkomo, governors for Bulawayo Metropolitan province, Matabeleland North and South provinces, Cdes Cain Mathema, Thokhozile Mathuthu and Angeline Masuku respectively.

The chiefs’ conference began on Tuesday and some of the issues being discussed at the meeting include the management of the environment, indigenisation, community share ownership schemes, inputs distribution for the 2011-2012 farming season and the constitution-making process.
