The Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defences Forces, President Robert Mugabe has described Sepp Blatterâ€™s visit as an honour that will leave good wishes for Zimbabwe.
He said this after meeting the visiting world football governing body boss at State House this Monday afternoon.The FIFA boss who is en route to the 123rd IOC congress in Durban, jetted into the country for the first time this Monday morning.
Blatter had a chance to meet stakeholders in Zimbabwean football before he paid a special visit to the highest office on the land and the office of the chief patron of the Zimbabwe Mighty Warriors, Cde Mugabe.
Cde Mugabe said Blatterâ€™s visit is an honour that will shower Zimbabwe with wishes of immense success, particularly for the soccer fraternity.
The FIFA boss hailed Cde Mugabeâ€™s commitment to sport and prophesied that good fortunes lie ahead for Zimbabwean soccer.
It is the first time that Blatter or anyone at the helm of FIFA has visited Zimbabwe.
After the courtesy call on Cde Mugabe, the football world leader then graced the COSAFA women championship tie between Zimbabwe and Malawi where he officially launched the FIFA – WIN IN AFRICA WITH AFRICA CAMPAIGN.
