Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe Secretary general Mr Raymond Majongwe has hailed President Robert Mugabe for championing the provision of education in the country since 1980.
Speaking to ZBC Current Affairs, Mr Majongwe said there is need to maintain the high literacy rate currently obtaining in the country.
He called upon the government to increase comprehensive education awareness on the new curriculum if positive results are to be realised.
The government recently introduced a new curriculum meant to modernise the education system to be in line with modern technologies.
The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Lazarus Dokora has said the new curriculum framework will prepare graduates of the education system to have the following skills: critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, good communication skills, team building and technological skills.
